Cristiano Ronaldo has beaten arch rival Lionel Messi and the Sniper of Bayern Munich Robert Lewandowski to win the Golden Foot Award 2020.








Cristiano Ronaldo has won the prestigious award which can only be won once in a player's whole career, the 35 year old Ronaldo has been named as the 18th reciptient of the prestigious trophy.















To be in the competition of the award which was introduced in 2003 for Europe's best performers, footballers must be at least 28 of age.


The International Journalists shortlist the top 10 players for the trophy, then general public vote for the winner in an online poll.


The Winners are then invited to leave a mould structure of their footprint on the Champions Promenade in Monaco.


This time it was Ronaldo who received most votes from the fans around the world for the past season which he finished with 37 goals in 46 games.












Ronaldo has been in amazing form this season too finding the back of net 9 times in 7 matches for Juventus.


It Sounds shocking that Ronaldo who won Balon-D-Or and Champions League five times has never won the Golden Foot before.


And the fact that Messi has never won the trophy has still remained a mystry with the two dominating the football world for over a decade.


Some of the players such as Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Luca Modric and Edinson Cavani have won the award at younger age than Ronaldo.

 

With this addition of trophy in Ronaldo's long list of individual awards can we say that the Ronaldo is the Best Player in Football History.
